Foklore and mythology of the seven deadly sins stretch across every faith and culture. Always the same: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, and Sloth. Capital Vices, fueling the corruption of the world, perverting humanity, concepts of mankind.

Hand sculpted by Lucifer himself, they are more than just concepts of human darkness. His most beloved creations, his precious children. For many years, they served him as the Princes of Hell, meant to lead the world to the apocalypse. But the war against Heaven ended, Earth remained in a standstill, and the rise of Christianity began. 

For many years, the Vices maintained their father's hold over hell. But as time passed, so did Lucifer's interest with the politics of the Underworld, and his own Father's creations. Many looked to the Vices to take Lucifer's place, to conquer, to lead. But as Lucifer stepped down, the Vices felt no need to stick around. Hell wasn't their purpose - humanity was.

In Lucifer's absence, the lesser demons began to develop into factions, one among them, Belial, deemed himself King of Hell. His believers offered themselves up for consumption, allowing his power to grow, and his arrogance. Belial tried binding the Vices to himself, to bend them to his will. He lead manhunts to track them down, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. The Vices, finding Belial a nuisance rather than a threat, approached him with an offer:

If he left them the fuck alone, they wouldn't rip his fucking throat out.

Belial abided, Eons passed, his power grew. Still, he could never surpass the Vices. For every step he took, they took many. Belial ruled hell always knowing they were out there, able to slaughter him on a whim. Other factions saw his inability to control the Vices as weaknesses, and spoke of how Lucifer could return with them at his heed any time he so pleased. The demons came to believe that if they could control the Vices, they could defeat Lucifer if he were ever to return.

It was no surprise when Belial was killed, there were actual betting pools on how long it would take. The demon who managed to surpass him and consume Belial into himself became known as The Champion, and claimed Hell as his own. He vowed to take control of the Vices for his own use. Frankly...
